ANYWHERE, USA — Remember the Andy Griffith Show episode where Gomer Pyle sees Deputy Barney Fife do an illegal U-turn and asserts the principle that no one is above the law?
After drawling “citizens’ arrest” and upon realizing that Barney disliked the idea that even a cop could be cited for a traffic infraction, Gomer shoots back, “There’s two sets of laws—one for the ‘pole-eese’ and one for ordinary citizens!”
And the gritty “Walker, Texas Ranger” series upheld the same basic moral code into the early 2000s.
The very first sign of law breakage brought Walker’s signature round-house kick, handcuffs and perhaps a gunfight into the equation. The innocent were aided. The crooks were raided. Every time. Boom!
Corrupt police and politicians, renegade soldiers, Texas crack dealers and hoods of any race—it didn’t matter—the law breaker, in or outside the government, of any rank, would feel the full immediate brunt of the law by the Texas Rangers.
All of which illustrates how far we’ve fallen in The Failed State of America.
Those TV shows have given way to the juvenile news media and its insistence that no moral code exists, especially for the well-funded and the high-born.
But kids with an illegal joint must submit. Struggling men who miss a single child-support payment by a few days—obey as well, or it’s off with your head.
And speeders, “one-too-many” drivers, public pissers, curfew breakers and the whole sordid lot. Taser them! Take their driver’s licenses! Render them jobless!
Ah, but when I arrived home Sunday, Nov. 6 for an evening meal with my wife, I popped open the laptop and happened upon the latest sizzler: FBI chief James Comey had caved again.
Comey reportedly sent letters to the heads of key congressional committees. The letters informed them that, as of two days before the election, he again would not be pressing charges against Hillary.
My spirit sank.
I couldn’t tell my wife for a few minutes. The words wouldn’t come.
A top national law enforcer had confirmed that he will do nothing to prevent a known felon from quite possibly entering the nation’s highest office.
His decision came just a week or so after he re-opened the investigation against Hillary due to finding untold additional thousands of her emails on the laptop of perverted Congressional reject Anthony Weiner—the estranged husband of Hillary’s main campaign handler, the mysterious Huma Abedin.
A mainstream press account put it this thusly: “FBI Director James Comey informed key lawmakers on Sunday that he still does not believe [emphasis added] that Hillary Clinton should face criminal prosecution over her use of private email servers during her time as secretary of state.
“Comey said his conclusion came after FBI agents reviewed all of the newly discovered messages to or from Clinton, found on electronic devices that belonged to her top aide’s estranged husband, disgraced former congressman Anthony Weiner.
“The FBI investigative team has been working around the clock to process and review a large volume of emails from a device obtained in connection with an unrelated criminal investigation,” Comey reportedly said in his letter to Congress.
“During that process we reviewed all of the communications that were to or from Hillary Clinton while she was Secretary of State. Based on our review, we have not changed our conclusions that we expressed in July with respect to Secretary Clinton,” he continued, referring to his July 2nd excursion into non-reality in which he spared Hillary from political oblivion the first time.
That was back when an indictment (complete with an arrest and handcuffs) would have done some good while avoiding predictable accusations later that Comey was purposely reinstating these matters close to the Nov. 8 election to trip up Hillary.
Comey’s second attempt to nail Hillary, at first, gave us a sign that perhaps the FBI could reclaim its long-lost honor.
However, it’s as if the FBI deliberately gave the people hope that we’d finally get better government but suddenly dashed it on the rocks. You’d think that Comey’s out to destroy the morale of the American people and his FBI associates. What a loser. Are we being purposely tormented?
Just how long can we take being told that, on the one hand, Hillary broke the United States Code simply by handling government documents on her private servers (with imprisonment and fines clearly specified), but on the other hand, nothing will ever be done about it?
Just how long can we accept the fact that our children are coming to understand that their “government” knowingly and willfully allowed a felon to run for president on a major party ticket?
Just how long will we tolerate the fact that the entire population, including our kids and grandkids, are being taught that crime pays and honor and honesty are for chumps?
And what do some of us tell the kids?
- That being a Democrat is more important than the rule of law?
- That being a woman can only mean electing a woman, regardless of background and character?
- That a woman with a rambling rap-sheet of political scandal, crime and intrigue in league with her husband is the proper person for the presidency?
Need I say that Hillary received money from her government connections in Qatar and Saudi Arabia who also apparently funded ISIS?
Would it do any good to repeat that, besides the fact the using private servers at all for government business is a crime, that such a practice risked giving foreign foes a cyber-inroad into secrets and various information that could be used against the American people?
Trump has been a trash-talker at times, full of bravado, pretense. I wish we had had better choices.
Still, he’s not a felon involved in buying and selling state information during the war on terror. He hasn’t done those things that risk nationhood itself.
He does have some genuine passion and legitimate concerns, with an eye toward some solutions that make some sense at least some of the time.
Don’t even attempt to tell me otherwise.
Don’t even attempt to say that Trump’s juvenile talk and sometimes sketchy business deals equate with Hillary’s espionage—yes, espionage.
TRUTH HOUND SPECIAL NOTE: That word says it all, even while the pro-Hillary voters have become those who Morpheus warned ‘Mr. Anderson’ (Neo) about in the Matrix: ‘The Matrix is a system, Neo. The system is our enemy. But when you’re inside . . . what do you see? Businessmen, teachers, carpenters, lawyers. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still part of that system, and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inert, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it.’
That surpasses anything I can offer to define humanity in general but especially Hillary’s supporters and their embrace of the Grand Delusion.
